Hello and Welcome!
In the World of the South Pacific, "Where the Sea Meets the Sky", there are always flowers, smiles, music, songs and dances that are deeply rooted in Polynesian traditions. Island Luau is not just the lovely Hula, but varies to reflect every aspect of life.

As the President of the "Voices of Polynesian Islanders in Alaska", I would like to greet you in our Polynesian greetings:
  • From the Tongans....."Malo e Lelei"
  • From the Fijians....."Bula Vinaka"
  • From the Tahitians....."Ia Orana"
  • From the Aoteroana....."Kiora"
  • From the Hawaiians....."Aloha"
  • From the Samoans....."Talofa lava"
A star is best seen at night. Jesus said, "I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me, should not abide in darkness". My Polynesians, leave our world of darkness, our doubts behind, let's focus and stand firm in our commitments, in seeing that these efforts are carried out.

As President Kennedy said: "Ask Not What Your Country Can Do For You, Ask What You Can Do For Your Country".
Our people have expressed a sense of belonging and are proud that they can call Alaska home. The many crimes and violence involving our Polynesian Youth, have been the focus of our attention. Our primary goal is to help find solutions in combating these issues and to alleviate them. Again, let's stand firm together, and join hand in hand, by uniting we stand, by dividing we fall; In so righteous a cause let us hope to succeed.

We pray also that our Lord will continue helping and bless us in good health, and with many challenges that face our community in Alaska. Once again, Welcome to the Voices of Polynesian Islanders In Alaska. -Rev. Sailitai Maga
